Urban Planet is a daily roundup of blogs from around the world dealing specifically with urban environments. We’ll be on the lookout for websites outside the country that approach themes related to urban experiences and issues.

Architizer reports on Superkilen, Copenhagen’s new kilometre-long park that cuts through the Nørrebro neighborhood. The diverse neighbourhood is home to more than 60 nationalities; as such, the park is features cultural mementos from the home countries of the area’s residents. Designed by art group Superflex, Topotek 1 architects, and BIG, the park was designed in a highly participatory manner to maximize “freedom of expression”. The Red Square features bright colours and recreation activities, the Black Square weaves white lines, fountains and palm trees around a rolling landscape, and the Green Park is a linear lawn.
