Canadian Urbanism Uncovered

  1. Isn’t it great? It was such an unexpected find. Moreover, it’s not even officially an alley, but rather an avenue, which sounds just a tad grandiose.

  2. I pass by this street on the train every day. I looks much better in this photo, than it does out the train window.

  3. I had the pleasure of living upstairs at No. 7 Riverview for nine years back in the 1980s. The building dates from the 1890s and is rather eccentric in its interior layout. I got to know many of the CPR engineman who operated the trains past the house and they would all wave when they saw me on the balcony. I had a railroad marker lamp attached to the outside wall beside the upstairs balcony door. The map would show red to the front and green to the sides.
