1. One of my favourite alleys in Montreal.

2. Isn’t it great? It was such an unexpected find. Moreover, it’s not even officially an alley, but rather an avenue, which sounds just a tad grandiose.

3. I pass by this street on the train every day. I looks much better in this photo, than it does out the train window.

4. I had the pleasure of living upstairs at No. 7 Riverview for nine years back in the 1980s. The building dates from the 1890s and is rather eccentric in its interior layout. I got to know many of the CPR engineman who operated the trains past the house and they would all wave when they saw me on the balcony. I had a railroad marker lamp attached to the outside wall beside the upstairs balcony door. The map would show red to the front and green to the sides.
