Spotted a week ago off the McKenzie King Bridge. Given the new staircase running along the western face of the new Ottawa Conference Centre building, it seems the original spiral staircase attached to the bridge is now either redundant, a safety hazard, or perhaps both.

Sad to see it go. Always thought there was something elegant and whimsical about that spiral staircase off the Mackenzie King Bridge. That said, I’m mostly thinking of the summer – it was treacherous in icy, winter conditions!
