WHEN: Thursday May 29 — two shows: 7pm and 9:30pm
WHERE: Bloor Cinema (506 Bloor Street West)
HOW MUCH: $14

“For a wild way to kick off your Bike Month revelry, you could put on your best two-sizes-too-small grey suit and a red bow tie and head to the Bloor Cinema May 29 for The Pee-wee Herman Picture Show,” writes Ed Keenan in the cover story of this week’s Eye Weekly. The show will include a screening of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure along with a simultaneous re-enactment of the film in front of the big screen. What’s more, the live action will be performed by of a slew “Toronto indie superstars” (as Keenan puts it) including members of the Hidden Cameras, Broken Social Scene, Apostle of Hustle, Kids on TV, and The Old Soul. Lex Vaughn (pictured above) will play Pee-Wee. Sook Yin Lee, Misha Glouberman, and Spacing’s very own Matt Blackett are also part of the cast.

Visit the Toronto Cyclists Union website for information on where to buy advance tickets. For more info on the newly launched union itself, you can read Keenan’s story on Eye’s website.
