Jarvis bike lane erasing continues with slow rolling protest

The Jarvis Street erasing began again today, with reports of a physician arrested earlier near Queen for blocking the truck. At 1:30PM there was a slow-moving protest that appeared to be slowing down the machine, but allowing erasing to still take place. The protestors and some police officers were holding Tim Hortons cups. Canada remains Canada.

  1. I would be angry too if they took away our bike lane. My support goes to the cyclists who are protesting this move. I wonder if removing the bike lane is really worth it in the long run.

  2. Between the gleeful abandonment of your environmental goals and the giant finger Toronto is giving to cyclists, Canada seems to be going the way of your hellhole sister to the south.

  3. Sucks. I usually take Sherbourne, but switched to Jarvis since the construction began, and it was pretty good and a good deal faster than Sherbourne, Now that the bike lanes are gone and Sherbourne is still a mess. This town is just dysfunctional.

No erasing bike lanes in the US and an increase in environmental concerns in cities across the board.

No comparison with us is necessary, thanks.
