PODCAST: Spacing Radio 005, Shake It Up

October 28, 2016 | By Spacing Radio

This is the companion episode to the latest issue of Spacing Magazine, with a focus on celebrating women in city building.

We talk to Pamela Robinson, associate dean, graduate studies and special programs at Ryerson University (and Spacing contributing editor), about striving for gender equality in the traditionally male-dominated world of city building, and urban planning.

We speak to Toronto Centre for Active Transportation Director Nancy Smith Lea about a recent report geared at tapping into untapped potential cycling demographics.

And urban planner Kyle Miller tells us about a personal study he’s made of pedestrian and cyclist injuries and death, during what has been a dismal year for road safety in Toronto.

Thanks to special guest Melanie Hrymak of Toronto indie theatre company, Headstrong Collective!
