The City of Vancouver has released the initial planning products for their study on potential futures for the Georgia and Dunsmuir Viaducts, the False Creek Flats and the Broader Eastern Core Strategy.

The vision entitled: “VANCOUVER VIADUCTS: a bold new concept” [Click for Slideshow] is being co-presented by the City of Vancouver Planning and Engineering Departments.

This planning process has been ongoing since the ReCONNECT Competition was concluded in December. The Product produced with Perkins+Will looks similar – yet with notable differences – to co-winning Submission 71 “-Viaducts = Park+”. The proposal by Dialog, PWL, Larry Beasley, and the late Jim Green presented a vision of ramping Georgia Street down to meet a combined and renewed Pacific / Expo Boulevard.

Open Houses are being presented next week, where the public is invited to view this new concept for the viaducts and provide their feedback.
