Upcycled Urbanism: Team Day

Designers, students, activists, and people just like you are planning a spectacular transformation of an entire downtown city block for one day this summer, and they need your help!
Saturday, May 25 is Upcycled Urbanism Team Day at the Museum of Vancouver. If you were a part of our March workshops, this is your chance to take your ideas to the next step on one of our design+build teams. If you’re new to the project, this is a chance to join a group of great people and plan your urban intervention together.
This event is free but space is limited.

What’s it all about?
Upcycled Urbanism is a participatory project that invites everyone to reimagine and rebuild parts of Vancouver’s public realm. Working together, teams of participants will design and build new cityscapes using blocks of expanded polystyrene containing material salvaged from the construction of the Port Mann Bridge. The design+build event will take place downtown on July 13, but the preparations start NOW. Everyone is welcome.
Bonus: We’ll be unveiling full-size Upcycled building blocks for the first time! Come test them out.
Upcycled Urbanism is a partnership between Museum of Vancouver, the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA) at the University of British Columbia, the Vancouver Public Space Network, Maker Faire Vancouver, and Spacing Magazine, with generous additional support from SALA, Mansonville Plastics and the Vancouver Foundation.
