Historical Chinatown Tour
When: Saturday September 27th, 12pm AND Saturday October 4th, 12pm to 3pm.
We will begin with dim sum. If you don’t want to eat dim sum, you can meet us at the restaurant at 12:40 pm.
Where: Meet at Jade Dynasty Restaurant, 137 Pender St East, Chinatown.
Cost: $10 for the tour, and approximately $10 for dim sum. RSVP with Kathryn at 604-616-0662.
Historical Chinatown Tours is an informative and fun walking tour that explores the history and culture of Vancouver’s Chinatown, guided by historian Judy Lam Maxwell. Our primary goal is to make these tours mutually beneficial to participants and the Chinatown community. Our aim is to raise money for restoration of heritage buildings, while educating participants about a difficult past in a now-revitalized neighbourhood. We also want to take participants into various unique cultural and modern businesses to bring attention to their value, products, and function in the community.
