It’s not often in life that you can make a meaningful contribution to the lives of millions of your neighbours with one simple act. By voting “Yes” in the upcoming Transportation and Transit Referendum, you have the opportunity to do just that.

A “Yes” vote will ensure our transportation network meets our needs as the region grows by one million people within the next 30 years.

By voting “Yes” you will help protect our economy, our environment, and help us all spend more time with friends and families instead of idling in traffic.

Voting “Yes” is simple:

  1. If you are a registered voter living in Metro Vancouver, your voting package will be mailed to you by Elections BC between March 16 and March 27, 2015.
  2. If you don’t receive a voting package by March 27, request one by:
    – phoning 1-800-661-8683
    – clicking elections.bc.ca/ovr
    – visiting a Plebiscite Service Office in person after April 13.

You can ask for a voting package until midnight on Friday, May 15.

  1. Complete your ballot and drop it off at any Canada Post Office or in any Canada Post mail box. Elections BC must receive your ballot by 8pm, Friday, May 29.
  2. Remind your friends and family to do the same.

Talk to your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues about the importance of this vote and urge them to support a “Yes” vote for the Mayors’ Plan.

The Plan will benefit the entire region, with benefits within Vancouver including:

  • Extension of the Millennium Line from VCC-Clark to Arbutus Street along the Broadway Corridor to serve the current and future demand along the region’s busiest bus corridor
  • Five additional B-Lines connecting people and jobs
  • Upgrades to Expo, Millennium and Canada Lines to reduce overcrowding, meet demand and improve the transit experience
  • Increased SeaBus service by 50% to run every 10 minutes during the peak periods, and every 15 minutes at other times
