Jared was born and raised in Alberta and has spent the last decade on the west coast where he obtained a B.A. with distinction in philosophy and environmental studies from the University of Victoria and will be completing his M.Arch degree in April 2018 at UBC. While Jared’s writing covers many topics it has always maintained a consistent theme in its attempt to make sense of the often tenuous yet sometimes fruitful relationship of progressive globalization and traditional ways of life. Through his research Jared’s writing has become increasingly focused on the effects that the global food systems has on environmental and social systems as well as the regenerative potential of food systems architecture within increasingly dense urban centers.
