HALIFAX<\/strong> – In conjunction with Aim\u00e9e Brown’s artist residency in Point Pleasant <\/span>Park this season, she will be performing a Lamplighter’s Invocation<\/a>,\u00a0Saturday, March 19, starting at 7:10 pm at the Gatekeeper’s Lodge on\u00a0Young and Point Pleasant Street.<\/p>\n

This performance will commemorate and illuminate the old and new sites\u00a0for the Point Pleasant Park cast iron lamps, constructed by the\u00a0Glasgow Corporation Lighting Department in 1900. The lamps, removed\u00a0from the Tower Road entrance to be refinished and retrofitted with LED\u00a0lights, are currently being placed near the Park Gates and the\u00a0Gatekeeper’s Lodge,establishing a distinct Victorian-era section in\u00a0the park.<\/p>\n

\n WHERE:<\/strong> Gatekeeper’s Lodge, Point Pleasant Park
\n HOW MUCH<\/strong>: Free<\/p>\n

The performance will take place rain or shine, so make sure to dress appropriately. All are welcome to participate.<\/p>\n

Throughout her residency in Point Pleasant, Aim\u00e9e has been examining the Park’s fascinating past through the lens of contemporary art performance and installation.<\/p>\n
