Their winnings from a recent lawsuit will more than cover the $13,000 price tag to fix the intersection where it&#8217;s estimated that one cyclist is injured every day. (<a href=\"http:\/\/seattletimes.nwsource.com\/html\/dannywestneat\/2015453861_danny29.html\" target=\"_self\">Seattle Times<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisblogrules.com\/2010\/05\/the-street-art-in-brazil-is-continuing-to-amuse-people.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ThisBlogRules+%28This+Blog+Rules%29\" target=\"_self\">This Blog Rules<\/a> showcases some amusing street art from Brazil&#8217;s 6emeia Project.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0Are ants genius urban designers?\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bldgblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/ant-urbanism.html\" target=\"_self\">BLDGBLOG<\/a> poses the question, after the work of\u00a0Professors Graham Currie and Martin Burd from Melbourne&#8217;s Monash University suggests that ants may be on to something: &#8220;Ants [move] in an orderly fashion, and never [seem] \u00a0to panic, even when there [is] danger or congestion.&#8221;<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.treehugger.com\/files\/2011\/05\/how-a-paris-suburb-stopped.php\" target=\"_self\">Treehugger<\/a> reports that the Parisian suburb, Montreuil, is championing a green revitalization agenda. The suburb has been known for social unrest and persistent poverty. Mayor Dominique Voyet, elected in 2008, is transforming the city with its first\u00a0<em>Plan local d&#8217;urbanisme <\/em>which has paved the way for reclamation of abandoned lands, extension of the metro line, community gardening, and revitalization of the city&#8217;s historic murs \u00e0 p\u00eache (peach walls).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0With the recession easing its grip on development in Chicago, urbanists in the Windy City don&#8217;t know whether to curse or celebrate.
