J.R. Carpenter’s new novel Words the Dog Knows<\/a><\/em> (conundrum press) captures the details of daily life in Mile End and the effects of gentrification that has taken place over the last decade. The novel draws on the authors’ previous web-based works, Entre Ville<\/a> and in absentia<\/a> (which was presented by artist collective Dare-Dare).
