Montreal in Pictures<\/a><\/p>\nWork commenced last July to completely renovate the Lac aux Castors that was built by hand in 1938. The renovation is scheduled to take 2 years and comprises 2 phases.<\/p>\n
The first phase of rebuilding the retaining walls, removing the large buildup of sediment in the basin and landscaping the bottom for improved water circulation appears to be complete, although still not refilled with water – perhaps work is still underway on the new pumping station that will improve water level management and oxygenation.<\/p>\n
The second phase comprises landscaping and reconfiguration of the area west of the basin and\u00a0is scheduled to be completed this December.<\/p>\n
