Through the years the underground city and the pedestrian tunnels that link the shopping centers, commercial and residential buildings and the downtown metro system has steadily grown to include 32km of tunnels and become one of the largest underground networks in the world.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite section is one of the more modern additions (2003) to the network and links Square Victoria with the Palais des Congr\u00e8s.\u00a0One of the great features of this section of the underground city tunnels is that there are quite a few works of public art on display.\u00a0A personal favorite is the art installation by Christian Kiopini called Stratifications Pari\u00e9tales (3 \u00c9l\u00e9ments) chambre Secr\u00e8te \u2013 contreforts \u2013 Rayons (2002-2003).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Location: Le R\u00c9SO &#8211; between Square Victoria and Palais des congr\u00e8s Date of photo:\u00a0September 10 2013 Photographer:\u00a0Martin New at\u00a0Montreal in Pictures The R\u00c9SO was conceived in 1962 with the construction of Place Ville Marie.
