{"id":25102,"date":"2014-08-04T12:33:16","date_gmt":"2014-08-04T16:33:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/?p=25102"},"modified":"2014-08-04T12:59:49","modified_gmt":"2014-08-04T16:59:49","slug":"montreal-5-fights-walking-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2014\/08\/04\/montreal-5-fights-walking-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Montreal in 5 Fights &#8211; Walking Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From founding fathers, to dancing drag-queens, Montreal as we know it has been beaten into shape by centuries of conflict.\u00a0Long-time locals, as well as newcomers to the city, will be surprised\u00a0to discover\u00a0out\u00a0how age-old tensions have been woven into the urban fabric.<\/p>\n<p>As a writer for Spacing Montreal for the past seven years, I&#8217;ve had the chance to soak up a lot of local lore, including some stories which have not yet been published on the blog.<\/p>\n<p>Now, to raise funds for\u00a0<a style=\"color: #1155cc;\" href=\"http:\/\/marcherlaregion.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Walk the Region<\/a>, I&#8217;m offering a unique tour which will reveal five historical conflicts\u00a0<em>in situ,\u00a0<\/em>and observe how these stories have impacted the built environment, and the way we occupy spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Please register online\u00a0as places are limited!
