I recently wrote about the threat posted to the western part of St. Henri<\/a> by the impending reconstruction of the Turcot Interchange. It isn’t just residents below the hill who are concerned, though. Many people who live in NDG, especially the lower NDG neighbourhood of St. Raymond, are just as anxious about what the reconstruction will entail.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, the Minist\u00e8re des transports du Qu\u00e9bec will hold a public hearing to answer questions and let people know what’s up. Some concerns that will be raised by residents include the MTQ’s proposal to move Highway 20 right up against the St. Jacques bluff, which some feel might threaten the escarpment’s natural habitat and provide a barrier to future public access to it, and the delays and disruption expected to be caused by several years of construction.<\/p>\n

The hearing will be held at the St. Raymond community centre, 5600 Upper Lachine Road, at 7pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
