It has primarily been focused on Toronto, but the last few episodes have seen us cover other cities, which we will continue to do. This episode has a 10-minute feature on Montreal&#8217;s sewer system.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"black line\" src=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/images\/line-black-500.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"20\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/radio\/2009\/11\/09\/011-thinking-differently-about-public-spaces\/\"><strong>This episode of Spacing Radio<\/strong><\/a> challenges listeners to think about public spaces in a different light. The first place we want you to reconsider is under your feet and under the roads \u2013 the sewer system. Spacing Radio producer Mieke Anderson goes exploring <a href=\"http:\/\/www.undermontreal.com\/\">underground in Montreal<\/a> with our Spacing Montreal contributor <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/author\/andrew\/\">Andrew Emond<\/a>. At the <a href=\"http:\/\/4days.ca\/\">4 Days<\/a> conference in Halifax, the Spacing Atlantic crew got to chat with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thackara.com\/\">John Thackara<\/a>, the former director of the Netherlands Design Institute and a globe-trotting booster of social innovation. And we discuss a unique project in Vancouver that converts <a href=\"http:\/\/vancouver.ca\/engsvcs\/streets\/greenstreets\/generalInformation.htm\">roundabouts<\/a> and curbside boulevards into <a href=\"http:\/\/vancouver.ca\/engsvcs\/streets\/greenways\/guidelines.htm\">blooming gardens<\/a>.
