We\u2019ll be on the lookout for websites outside the country that approach themes related to urban experiences and issues.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Dallas, Texas, long-known for a lack of green space and an overabundance of parking lots, is taking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/sharedcontent\/dws\/news\/localnews\/bushlibrary\/stories\/DN-mainstreetgarden_13met.ART.State.Edition1.4b77c87.html\" target=\"_self\">bold action to change its reputation<\/a> and transform its downtown. Last week, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dallascityhall.com\/council_briefings\/briefings0407\/20070404_MainStreetGarden.pdf\" target=\"_self\">Main Street Gardens<\/a>, a 1.7 acre park complete with a wading pool, a playground and a concrete run for dogs, officially opened to Dallas residents. Main Street Gardens is the first of four new parks planned to bring more green public space into Dallas&#8217; downtown.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Benjamin Forgey of the <a href=\"http:\/\/washington.bizjournals.com\/washington\/stories\/2009\/11\/16\/tidbits6.html\" target=\"_self\"><em>Washington Business Journal<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>looks at what America&#8217;s capital can learn from architecture in  Toronto .<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<a href=\"http:\/\/www.calgaryherald.com\/entertainment\/Finalists+chosen+East+Village+bridge\/2233067\/story.html\" target=\"_self\"> The design competition<\/a> for Calgary&#8217;s St. Patrick&#8217;s Island pedestrian crossing that attracted 35 submissions from around the world has been narrowed to three finalists. According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calgaryherald.com\/entertainment\/Finalists+chosen+East+Village+bridge\/2233067\/story.html\" target=\"_self\"><em>Calgary Herald<\/em><\/a>, the Calgary Municipal Land Corp is hoping to begin construction on the new bridge within the next two years.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2009\/CRIME\/11\/20\/alcatraz.indian.occupation\/index.html\" target=\"_self\">CNN<\/a> looks back at the history of the island of Alcatraz, home to one of history&#8217;s most notorious prisons and the site of an occupation that was arguably among one of &#8220;the most significant events in Native American history&#8221;.
