It seems like Montr\u00e9al bike lanes (at least the ones separated by removable bollards) are altogether abandoned to parking and snow during winter conditions. Does anybody know otherwise or of any effort in our city to keep them plowed?<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/wire\/?p=2738\">&#8220;Sugar Beach\u201d wins Jarvis Slip Design Competition<\/a> <\/strong>: Claude Cormier Architects Paysagistes (of Montr\u00e9al) wins the Jarvis Slip Design Competition for Toronto&#8217;s waterfront. Ian Malczewski reports on the announcement and on the hopes and reservations the project is generating. It&#8217;s interesting for Montrealers to note that Toronto has stretches of urban beaches to the east of the city. The competition is part of a massive undertaking by the City of revisiting the design of its waterfront. Compare that to the dismal <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/?p=372\">Notre-Dame<\/a> &#8220;boulevard urbain&#8221; plan for Montr\u00e9al&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/wire\/?p=2721\"><strong>POLL: should City Council adopt a political party system?<\/strong><\/a> : An interesting poll from Spacing Toronto looks at whether the city should switch to a political party system. Spacing readers from both cities should exchange notes as Montr\u00e9al already functions on such a system.
