En effet, les rues sont les espaces publics les plus nombreux et les plus accessibles d\u2019une ville. C\u2019est dans cet espace o\u00f9 la grande partie des \u00e9changes humains se font. Dommage que nous octroyions tout cet espace \u00e0 l\u2019\u00eatre motoris\u00e9 (la voiture) et non \u00e0 l\u2019\u00eatre humain.<\/p>\n<p>Le troisi\u00e8me sc\u00e9nario de cette s\u00e9rie tire son inspiration du concept de <em>Shared Space<\/em>, \u00ab l\u2019espace partag\u00e9 \u00bb, afin de corriger l\u2019injustice de la division in\u00e9gale de l&#8217;usage de l&#8217;espace. Dans ce cas, le but est de rendre les rues \u00e0 ses vrais propri\u00e9taires : nous. Oubliez <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2010\/03\/16\/reimaginons-la-rue-st-viateur-part-3-le-feru-de-velo\/\">la s\u00e9gr\u00e9gation du deuxi\u00e8me sc\u00e9nario<\/a> \u2013 ici, tous les modes de transport coop\u00e8rent et cohabitent dans le m\u00eame espace : pi\u00e9tons, cyclistes, automobilistes&#8230; L\u2019\u00e8re o\u00f9 chaque usage routier d\u00e9tenait et d\u00e9fendait son propre territoire s\u2019ach\u00e8ve. La s\u00e9gr\u00e9gation des usages a failli \u00e0 la t\u00e2che d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de vie des citoyens \u2014 nos routes restent toujours encombr\u00e9es et dangereuses.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019id\u00e9e de <em>shared space<\/em>, con\u00e7ue par Hans Monderman, est n\u00e9e d\u2019un besoin de cr\u00e9er des espaces \u00e0 la fois plus s\u00e9curitaires et plus \u00ab vivables \u00bb. Elle repose sur les principes de l\u2019attention particuli\u00e8re accord\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019autre : notre temp\u00e9rament dans le milieu urbain s\u2019am\u00e9liore lorsque nous nous reconnaissons, par contact visuel. Le choix du b\u00e9ton (au lieu de la brique, de la dalle, ou du pav\u00e9) permet de s\u2019adapter au caract\u00e8re presque industriel de la rue.<\/p>\n<p>Le design des espaces partag\u00e9s bouscule les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s sur la notion de \u00ab la rue \u00bb. La caract\u00e9ristique la plus frappante serait la r\u00e9duction substantielle de l\u2019encombrement. Les rues modernes constituent une v\u00e9ritable cacophonie des panneaux, des barri\u00e8res, et des interdictions. Les espaces partag\u00e9s r\u00e9priment ce d\u00e9sordre afin de cr\u00e9er un espace o\u00f9 l\u2019interaction humaine et le contact visuel sont encourag\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Avenue Duluth by Gene.arboit\" href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fichier:Rue_Duluth,_intersection_rue_Saint-Denis,_Montr%C3%A9al_2005-08-29.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4017\/4444352648_62ba90fee9.jpg\" alt=\"Avenue Duluth\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Image credits \u2015 Gene.arboit<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>L\u2019avenue Duluth s\u2019inspire du mod\u00e8le n\u00e9erlandais de woonerf (les cours r\u00e9sidentielles ou <em>living streets<\/em>). Ce concept date des ann\u00e9es 1980 et adopte les m\u00eames principes que <em>shared space<\/em>, mais l\u2019accent est mis sur l\u2019aspect r\u00e9sidentiel. Cependant, cette rue ne sert pas d\u2019exemple pour la rue St-Viateur, car la touche de l\u2019urbaniste est trop visible. Le remplacement du goudron par la brique, et l\u2019implantation de bacs \u00e0 fleurs et des lampadaires de style village constituent des am\u00e9nagements un peu trop touristiques. Dans le cas de St-Viateur, il faut s\u2019attacher aux d\u00e9sirs de la population qui semble se plaire dans l\u2019ambiance conviviale qu\u2019ils trouvent d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans leur quartier. Garder les poteaux \u00e9lectriques d\u2019antan. Encourager les points informels de rencontre. En fait, ils devraient \u00eatre trait\u00e9s en partenaires. Tr\u00e8s pratiques, ils font partie de nos vies et contribuent \u00e0 l&#8217;animation d&#8217;un quartier.
