This type of development is apparently nothing new to the city; present examples include North Toronto, the Beach and Mimico. As Montreal is presently looking into streetcar revival, this story will be interesting to follow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/wire\/?p=2861\"><strong>I am (not) lovin&#8217; it<\/strong><\/a>  The disappearance of a McDonald&#8217;s restaurant may not be something many regret. Yet, as Thomas Wicks writes, the sell of the McDonald&#8217;s building next to the ROM means a 70s architecture landmark might be destroyed. The corporation who bought the land from the fast food chain plans to build a 100m tall condo tower with a brand new (probably generic and dull) McDonald&#8217;s&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/wire\/?p=2855\">How Torontonians travel<\/a> <\/strong>This post brings forth data from a 2006 census as to what mode of transportation Torontonians use between walking, biking, transit and driving.
