Many had gleeful, soaked through parents in tow.<br \/>\n<!--more--> <a title=\"just a toe by alanah.montreal, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/alanahmontreal\/4643322940\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4038\/4643322940_6969b2f4f0.jpg\" alt=\"just a toe\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cyclists wound  around the fountain , risking a soaking when the jets suddenly double or tripple  in size. Other passers-by stopped to dip in a toe.<br \/>\n<a title=\"fountain teens by alanah.montreal, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/alanahmontreal\/4642703483\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3612\/4642703483_9f2b9ebb0e.jpg\" alt=\"fountain teens\" width=\"500\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Glorious relief from the sun-baked concrete!<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"place des spectacles fountains at night by alanah.montreal, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/alanahmontreal\/4641084726\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4005\/4641084726_42661158bb.jpg\" alt=\"place des spectacles fountains at night\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Come night time, the fountains are richly lit and just as lively: this time it is teenagers who dance through the water in bras and underwear.<\/p>\n<p>The QDS has made so many design compromises to tailor this public space to festival organizers. This fountain makes up for it a little by giving Montrealers something that we enjoy in our own way on an ordinary day.
