Is there an onus on cyclists to promote better behaviour   amongst fellow riders?<\/p>\n<p>Major changes are coming to Toronto&#8217;s iconic St Lawrence Market as   the<a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2010\/06\/07\/st-lawrence-market-north-building-design-announced\/\"> winning design<\/a> was announced this week for the redevelopment of the   1960&#8217;s era north market building. Spacing&#8217;s Nicole McIssac covers the   announcement and showcases the exciting new plan.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"spacing atlantic\" src=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/media\/identity\/sidebar-head-atlantic.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"44\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As part of an always great events  series, Veronica Simmonds profiles<a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/atlantic\/2010\/06\/11\/events-guide-world-naked-bike-ride\/\"> World Naked Bike<\/a> day and <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/atlantic\/2010\/06\/09\/events-guide-halifax-central-library-consultation\/\">public  consultation<\/a> on the Halifax Central Library.<\/p>\n<p>The Atlantic  Snapshots feature <a href=\"http:\/\/https:\/\/spacing.ca\/atlantic\/2010\/06\/10\/atlantic-snapshots-for-what-its-worth\/\">this  week <\/a>focused on another distinctly Atlantic scene, this time in  Saint John.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"spacing ottawa\" src=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/media\/identity\/sidebar-head-ottawa.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"44\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Evan Thornton covers two aspects of the city&#8217;s recently announced  plans for the Centretown neighbourhood. In the first piece Thornton  decries the city&#8217;s decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/ottawa\/2010\/06\/04\/city-plans-to-widen-centretowns-great-divide\/\">widen  Bronson Avenue<\/a>, a critical artery in the neighbourhood and already a  barrier to pedestrians. On the other hand, Thornton commends the plan&#8217;s  efforts to <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/ottawa\/2010\/06\/10\/surface-parking-targeted-in-design-plan-for-centretown\/\">target  surface parking lots<\/a>, which are not only unsightly, but also  damaging holes in the urban fabric.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing the question of transit funding for the Ottawa LRT  plan, Peter Raaymakers covers the recent announcement by the Feds to <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/ottawa\/2010\/06\/09\/light-rail-funding-the-waiting-game-is-over\/\">contribute  $600 million to the project. <\/a>While the funding announcement brings  some surety to the plan, the real waiting game of working out the  details and determining how the city will contribute its share has  begun.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"spacing montreal\" src=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/media\/identity\/sidebar-head-montreal.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"44\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Taxi&#8217;s can be unique and  identifying feature of a city that play an  important part in the  street-scape. As Montreal moves towards  implementing its bylaw allowing  advertisements on Taxis, Alanah Heffez  reports on <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2010\/06\/12\/taxi-top-ads-fall-short-of-world-class-design\/\">efforts   to create an attractive design promoting the city<\/a>. The new bylaw  is  also inspiring some grumbling amongst taxi drivers who report some  cabs  with the new signs have been mistake for pizza delivery cars.<\/p>\n<p>Spacing  Montreal is inviting readers to take part in its first ever <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2010\/06\/07\/best-of-the-city-survey-sondage-de-vos-coups-de-coeur-montrealais\/\">reader   survey<\/a> of favourite parts of the city.
