Imagine electric-blue shields arching over the entire city, providing environmental controls and safety against invading space-foes. Of course, our long history of sci-fi imagining has rarely panned out: it turns out those blue shields (and light-sabers<\/a> for that matter) use an incredible amount of energy.<\/p>\n

Pesky engineering demands aside, we continue to dream up stunning images that excite the imagination and propel us forward to a better future. These images remind us that wonderment is an origin from which we launch to exhaust what actually is possible.<\/p>\n
