This might be a bit reminiscent of how the Flintstones used to run (really, really fast) to propel their cars forward. Without any pedals, it is up to the rider of this concept bike – The Fliz <\/a>– to push off the ground to move the bike forward. And forget about sitting in a comfortable leather saddle: the Fliz requires the rider to hang from a harness while the frame of the bike arches over.<\/p>\n

This concept bike was inspired by the Dandy-horse<\/a>, a two-wheeled vehicle that required the rider to push off the ground to move forward. The Dandy-horse (1818) is considered to be the predecessor to the bicycle.<\/p>\n

The Fliz has won a Merit Award at the International Cycle Show in Taipei.<\/p>\n
