The weather in Ottawa may have taken a turn for the \u2018worst\u2019 this week, but while the temperatures are starting to plummet, this historical photo of a long ago winter is truly a celebration of the season in the Nation\u2019s Capital.<\/p>\n

Seen here is a wodden toboggan slide, tucked behind a festive and leafy lift building, and constructed beside the Chateau Laurier \u2013 sending tobogganers speeding down towards the Ottawa River.\u00a0The photo was taken in the winter of 1922 during the Winter Carnival, which was similar to our current Winterlude festival, and is a perfect example of Ottawans embracing all the greatness that winter has to offer.<\/p>\n
