As Ottawa grows and develops, the City is ensuring streets are designed to meet the needs of all users, whether they choose to walk, bike, drive or take public transit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The renewal of <a href=\"http:\/\/ottawa.ca\/en\/city-hall\/planning-and-development\/churchill-avenue-road-watermain-and-sewer-rehabilitation\">Churchill Avenue<\/a> is a $21.4-million integrated road, sewer and water rehabilitation project that includes right-of-way upgrades, such as raised cycling lanes (called cycle tracks), improved street lighting, traffic control signals at three intersections, traffic calming measures, concrete curbs and sidewalks, streetscaping, and utilities relocation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;<\/strong>Cycle tracks are innovative, paved asphalt bike lanes that run between the sidewalk and the road. They are predominantly one-way and follow the direction of traffic.
