While definitely positive that building has been restored from  municipal offices back to its original function, there are questions of  how the new market fits into the existing neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9mile Thomas\u00a0 gives an excellent profile of the Verdun neighbourhood;  a bridge between many aspects of the city and a home to the most  enlightened hipsters.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"st\" src=\"..\/media\/identity\/sidebar-head-toronto.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"44\" \/><\/p>\n<p>John Lorinc delves into the long and tumultuous history between <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2010\/10\/12\/lorinc-on-grinding-axes-and-alternative-futures\/\">George Smitherman and David Miller<\/a> and speculates on how this affected Miller&#8217;s Pantalone endorsement and  what would have happened had someone with a similar resume run in place  of Smitherman.<\/p>\n<p>As opposed to many of its suburbs which are littered with <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2010\/10\/09\/election-public-space-invaders\/\">campaign signs<\/a>,  Toronto has very tight rules regulating when and where candidates can  put up signs.
