In doing so  he challenges City Hall to consider the economic benefit of pubic  investment in festival space.<\/p>\n<p>Having recently come under fire from Doug Ford, Waterfront Toronto is the subject of this week&#8217;s <em>Headspace<\/em> feature as Luca De Franco interviews <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2011\/06\/13\/headspace-john-campbell-discusses-torontos-waterfront\/\">Waterfront Toronto CEO John Campbell<\/a> about the complexities of the agency&#8217;s work and the scope of its benefit to the public.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"so\" src=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/media\/identity\/sidebar-head-ottawa.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"44\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jay Baltz takes a fascinating close up look at the detailed design features of an <a href=\"http:\/\/http\/\/spacingottawa.ca\/2011\/06\/16\/baltz-parking-phobia-to-blame-for-sherwood-speedway\/\">almost ideal Ottawa urban residential street<\/a> to examine why the street&#8217;s potential is being hampered by high traffic speeds and an unwise fear or on-street parking.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Darwin questions our societal practice of not <a href=\"..\/2011\/06\/17\/lets-get-lost-walking-in-a-city-where-the-paths-have-no-name\/\">naming cycling and pedestrian pathways,<\/a> noting that this practice denies them legitimacy and relegates them to a   secondary status.
