Links are provided to the submissions in the <em>reCONNECT <\/em>design contest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/vancouver\/2011\/11\/24\/release-urban-screens-and-city-building-a-public-talk-with-mirjam-struppek\/\">Urban Screens<\/a> with interactive facades, buildings projections and networked  communication are spreading to all kinds of urban environments around  the world. Erick Villagomez showcases a an event held this week to  discuss the issue of how these projections positively engage audiences  and contribute to the experience of society.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, this week also saw the conclusion of the municipal election in Vancouver. Spacing was quick to provide interesting <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/vancouver\/2011\/11\/19\/robertson-returns-with-7-vision-2-npa-and-a-green\/\">analysis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/vancouver\/2011\/11\/25\/cartography-gregor-robertson-voting-percentage-and-dis\/\">cartographic<\/a> representation of the results.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"st\" src=\"..\/media\/identity\/sidebar-head-toronto.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"44\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Alex Bozikovic discusses his recent piece in <em>Architectural Record<\/em> talking about the <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2011\/11\/24\/no-mean-city-is-toronto-climbing-collapsing-or-both\/\">building boom<\/a> currently reshaping the skyline of Toronto and other Canadian cities.   Contrasted with the building stagnation in many American centers our   situation is hope for both caution and optimism.<\/p>\n<p>John Lorinc used his column this week to talk about Mark Osbaldeston&#8217;s new book <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2011\/11\/23\/lorinc-the-crimes-and-misdemeanours-of-unbuilt-toronto\/\"><em>Unbuilt Toronto 2<\/em><\/a> which looks at proposed major developments that were never built.   Lorinc shows that book reveals several close calls with monstrosities as   well as a possible origin of second guessing on transit.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"sm\" src=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/media\/identity\/sidebar-head-montreal.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"44\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Emile Thomas shares a recent experience which revealed his deep and previously unbeknownst daily relationship with the <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2011\/11\/23\/mes-nouveaux-colocs\/\">neighbours<\/a> in his building.
