It’s short notice, but don’t we all sometimes need a deadline to work its production magic on us? October 2nd<\/sup> (yes, that’s next Monday) is the deadline for two groovy public art calls here in The Ronto.<\/p>\n

One of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcem, In Flight<\/em>, is for a juried exhibition at Toronto Pearson Airport Terminal 1. It’s in the international part of the terminal, so if you’re looking for that big breakthrough showing to your favourite Siberian curator, this is it! Seriously though – artists residing in the 416, 905 and 519 area codes are invited to submit two-dimensional works which reflect the theme of flight. (I personally suggest a bottle of water, empty and flattened — but don’t you steal my idea, yo!) Complete details and entry forms are available on the Airport Authority web site at www.gtaa.com\/artprogram<\/a>, or call Lee Petrie, Manager, Cultural Programs at 416-776-3603.<\/p>\n

The second submission call is only for those who want to kick some serious art ass — it’s for the National Soccer Stadium at Exhibition Place. Can this include diagrams of how to execute the perfect, mother-honour-repairing head-butt? Dunno.
