{"id":1577,"date":"2007-03-01T23:51:11","date_gmt":"2007-03-02T03:51:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spacingtoronto.ca\/?p=1577"},"modified":"2007-03-02T13:30:16","modified_gmt":"2007-03-02T17:30:16","slug":"ttc-addresses-cleanliness-issues-at-stations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2007\/03\/01\/ttc-addresses-cleanliness-issues-at-stations\/","title":{"rendered":"TTC addresses cleanliness issues at stations?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/104\/260559126_3a6d65090c.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.640toronto.com\/\">AM640 Toronto<\/a> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.640toronto.com\/news\/metro.cfm?cat=7428218912&#038;rem=59691&#038;red=80121823aPBIny&#038;wids=410&#038;gi=1&#038;gm=metro.cfm\">running a report<\/a> stating that the Toronto Transit Commission&#8217;s record of cleanliness at its subway stations is improving, although the commission still has some way to go before returning to the cleanliness that commuters may remember in days of yore.<\/p>\n<p>According to the TTC&#8217;s report:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Of the 69 stations in the system, 23 have been deemed to be in a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153good\u00e2\u20ac\u009d state of cleanliness.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And while that is a long way from a system-wide rating of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcgood&#8217;, the report argues that it is still an improvement:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Two years ago, only one station was rated \u00e2\u20ac\u0153good.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to have every station posting a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153good\u00e2\u20ac\u009d rating by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The cynics among us may scoff at what they see as the TTC&#8217;s acknowledgement of the obvious, and they may even question the TTC&#8217;s rating system, but the fact that the TTC has acknowledged the problem in writing and set a goal for itself, gives this author som hope at least for some improvements. It gives us something to hold the TTC to.<\/p>\n<p>At least, that&#8217;s my opinion. What&#8217;s yours? What are, in your opinion, the dirtiest stations on the TTC network?
