Join the City of Toronto Archives and the Archives of Ontario on Wednesday, April 4 to celebrate Archives Awareness week. Hear from some of Ontario’s most acclaimed authors whose work has been inspired and informed by archival records.<\/p>\n

\nTime<\/strong>: 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)
\nLocation<\/strong>: Atrium, City of Toronto Archives, 255 Spadina Rd.
\nCost<\/strong>: Free<\/p>\n

CBC Radio’s Matt Galloway will host the event.<\/p>\n

Three award-winning Ontario authors will discuss how archives have inspired and assisted them with their works, and will read from their recently published books. The authors are:<\/p>\n

• Barbara Greenwood<\/strong>, author of Factory Girl<\/em> and other award-winning historical fiction
\n• Lawrence Hill<\/strong>, celebrated writer of the recently published Book of Negroes<\/em> — a novel inspired by an archival record of the same name
\n• Michael Redhill<\/strong>, award-winning author of the recently published Consolation<\/em> — a novel in which Toronto’s landscape and history play a central role.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
