Well, maybe submitting to PLAY\/GROUNDS, a new festival of public-space-oriented installation art to take place in Parkdale on a couple weeks prior to NB, will be more your bag.<\/p>\n<p>According to the call for submissions released earlier this week, PLAY\/GROUNDS \u00e2\u20ac\u0153artists are encouraged to employ empty storefronts, vacant lots, and parks as possible satellite locations for installations that engage and interact with passers-by.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Sounds fun, though in gentrifying areas it can sometimes be hard to find empty storefronts and vacant lots. Still, this phenomenon could also be toyed with, as the selection commitee is also looking for works that specifically address gentrification and social interactions in public space. So there you go.
