The loop was originally built to serve the now-deceased Coxwell Streetcar, which <a href=\"http:\/\/transit.toronto.on.ca\/streetcar\/4116.shtml\"><em>Transit Toronto<\/em><\/a> offers some backstory on.<\/p>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\" charset=\"utf-8\" src=\"http:\/\/static.polldaddy.com\/p\/4693937.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<noscript><br \/>\n\t<a href=\"http:\/\/polldaddy.com\/poll\/4693937\/\">Which Toronto streetcar route loops here?<\/a><span style=\"font-size:9px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/polldaddy.com\/features-surveys\/\">Market Research<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Check after the jump for some background on our bonus question!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--> The building below is Village by the Grange on McCaul Street, which encloses the McCaul loop that serves as the Western terminus of the 502 Downtowner streetcar. In their profile on McCaul Loop, <a href=\"http:\/\/transit.toronto.on.ca\/streetcar\/4157.shtml\"><em>Transit Toronto<\/em><\/a> touches upon one of the most interesting points in its history: in the past, it&#8217;s also played host to a variety of restaurants run in the shells of former streetcars. Last year&#8217;s November 9 instalment of <em>Torontoist<\/em>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/torontoist.com\/2010\/11\/vintage_toronto_ads_expect_the_unexpected_at_village_by_the_grange_restaurants.php\">Vintage Toronto Ads<\/a> elaborated on the various establishments operated out of McCaul Loop over the years, and dug up <em>The Star<\/em> food critic Jim White&#8217;s humorous critique that the site&#8217;s original restaurant \u2013 The Trolley \u2013 had &#8220;gone off the tracks.&#8221; Interestingly, of the two streetcars used in the restaurant setup, only one was actually a TTC streetcar \u2013 the other was a retired Ottawa vehicle.
