As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/id\/2288428\/?from=rss\" target=\"_self\">Slate<\/a> discovers this power is not unprecedented.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Twenty-first century airports have a life of their own. As John Kasarda and Greg Lindsey explain in <em>Aerotropolis<\/em>, if\u00a0Atlanta&#8217;s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport were to become its own country, its annual workforce and user base would make it the twelfth most populous nation on Earth. <a href=\"http:\/\/bldgblog.blogspot.com\/2011\/03\/aerotropolis-interview-with-greg.html\" target=\"_self\">BLDGBLOG <\/a>has an interview with the authors.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/colabradio.mit.edu\/changing-car-parking-to-bike-parking-in-melbourne\/\" target=\"_self\">MIT&#8217;s CoLab Radio<\/a> has an interesting post on the economic benefits of bicycle parking as compared with car parking.
