{"id":2079,"date":"2007-07-10T01:29:12","date_gmt":"2007-07-10T05:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spacingtoronto.ca\/?p=2079"},"modified":"2007-07-10T01:32:05","modified_gmt":"2007-07-10T05:32:05","slug":"st-george-station-signage-to-be-left-in-place","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2007\/07\/10\/st-george-station-signage-to-be-left-in-place\/","title":{"rendered":"St. George Station signage to be left in place"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1298\/715496650_2da1319fc1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Spacing&#8217;s transit contributor James Bow <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/?p=2062\">recently wrote<\/a> about the <a href=\"http:\/\/joeclark.org\/design\/signage\/TTC\/redesign\/\">Save the TTC Signs<\/a> which includes preserving the signage system at St. George Station created by noted Canadian graphic designer Paul Arthur. As part of the the TTC&#8217;s plan to to <a href=\"http:\/\/joeclark.org\/design\/signage\/TTC\/destroy\/\">clean-up stations<\/a> the signage system was to be removed. Instead, &#8220;direction has been given to staff to leave the Paul Arther signage in place until St. George is schedule for renovation under the station modernization program.  It&#8217;s not in the schedule yet, so it will likely be there for a good while longer, unless direction is given otherwise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Keeping it place is fine, but eventually it should be removed to coincide with the implementation of a properly tested signage system across the TTC.
