WHAT: Screening of Contested Streets<\/i> and panel discussion
\nWHEN: South Riverdale Health Centre, 955 Queen St. East at Carlaw
\nWHERE: Tuesday, September 18th, 7 pm sharp. Doors open at 6:30.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A couple of years ago, I saw the great documentary Contested Streets<\/i> — which explores pedestrian and cycling initiatives in various cities — followed by a panel discussion at a Car-Free Day event. This year, I’m doing it again, but now I’m on the panel. It’s a movie worth seeing:<\/p>\n

The East Toronto Climate Action Group<\/a> will be celebrating Car-Free Day 2007 with a free screening of the hit documentary Contested Streets<\/a><\/i>, which looks at successful programs in Copenhagen, London and Paris to reduce car use.<\/p>\n

A panel discussion will follow the screening. Panelists will include: Ward 32 Councillor Sandra Bussin; City transportation planner Pauline Craig; transit advocate Steve Munro; and pedestrian advocate Dylan Reid.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
