The Repair Club comes to Toronto<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday, November 8th, 2005 • 7pm, free<\/strong>
\n Innis College Town Hall (off St. George, just north of Harbord on U of T campus)<\/p>\n

Come take part in this Spacing<\/em> sponsored event! There will be a discussion by the leaders of the City Repair Club of Portland<\/a><\/strong> on how to change your urban environment with creativity in collaboration with the powers at City Hall (a weird combo, for sure!). <\/p>\n

City Repair was formed in 1996 by citizen activists who wanted a more community-oriented and ecologically sustainable society. Born out of a successful grassroots neighbourhood initiative that converted a residential street intersection into a neighbourhood public square, City Repair began its work with the idea that localization (of culture, of economy, of decision-making) is a necessary foundation of sustainability. By reclaiming urban spaces to create community-oriented places, City Repair plants the seeds for greater neighbourhood communication, empowering our communities and nurturing our local culture.<\/p>\n
