This is the <a href=\"http:\/\/maxknight.co.uk\/2008\/04\/14\/walking-bike\/\">Walking Bike<\/a>, an art project by <st1 w:st=\"on\"><\/st1><st1 w:st=\"on\">UK<\/st1> designer <a href=\"http:\/\/maxknight.co.uk\/\">Max Knight<\/a>. The artist literally reinvented the wheel when he took a standard bike wheel, typically comprised of a rim, tire and spokes, and replaced it with eight shoes on metal rods.<span>  <\/span>These new \u00e2\u20ac\u0153wheels\u00e2\u20ac\u009d were then incorporated into the existing chain and gear mechanism thereby allowing the bicycle to be fully functioning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">There is no denying that the Walking Bike is a quirky and eccentric piece.<span>  <\/span>It is also attractive, largely due to the superior choice of shoes. The fashionable and unfashionable alike will agree that use of retro-inspired high tops and sneakers add a certain cool factor that loafers and oxfords would not.
