Unlike previous GTA transportation bodies, it looks like this one may have the power and money to actually implement its policies &#8212; for example, it&#8217;s conceivable (though unlikely) that it could implement a region-wide congestion charge.<\/p>\n<p>They have embarked on an extensive <a href=\"http:\/\/metrolinx.limehouse.com\/portal\">public consultation program<\/a>, with a series of green papers on these various issues &#8212; including ones on transit, active transportation, mobility hubs, and other issues of great interest to our readers.  The original deadline for providing feedback was in May, but they&#8217;ve <strong>extended the deadline to July 10<\/strong>. They&#8217;ve also released a couple of more detailed &#8220;white papers&#8221; on big picture issues, which you can also comment on.<\/p>\n<p>This is a great opportunity to make your voice heard on these issues. The consultation system is pretty good once you figure it out &#8212; you have to register, but once you do, you can comment on the individual sections of each paper, meaning you can say as much or as little as you want &#8212; make one general comment in the introduction, or detailed comments in each section if you&#8217;re really interested.
