\nWhat’s the Use of History? Citizensh<\/strong><\/a>ip and History in Canada’s Past and Present<\/strong> <\/a>
\nToronto Public Library, Palmerston Branch, 560 Palmerston Street | 6:30 – 8:00 pm<\/em>
\nInspired by the newly published People’s Citizenship Guide, this roundtable of historians will discuss how concepts of citizenship have changed over the past century, and how history has been mobilized to create particular understandings of citizenship.<\/p>\n

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16<\/strong>
\nWorld Food Day Toronto: creating a vibrant local food system that works for everyone<\/strong><\/a>

\nJoin us for an exciting World Food Day, hosted by the Regent Park community, to learn more about some of the food problems our neighbourhoods, and how we can create a just and sustainable food system in Toronto. Free tickets can be downloaded from eventbrite.<\/a><\/p>\n

\nRisky Business: Financing the City<\/strong><\/a>
\nIsabel Bader Theatre, 93 Charles Street West | 6:30 pm<\/em>
\nPart of the Daniels Fora series, this event will explore the role that financial actors and designers play in the cycles of boom and bust that characterize our cities, and how these actors conceptualize risk and speculation as a city-building tool. With collaboration between real estate developers and architects\/urban designers playing an ever-increasing role in both defining markets and city building, it is time to take a closer look at how these issues are playing out today in Toronto and beyond.
