The Friends of Fort York, the volunteer advocacy organization that has helped look after the interests of City of Toronto’s premier museum site, issues a quarterly newsletter called Fife and Drum<\/strong>. Like an ordinary newsletter it lists upcoming events and recent goings-on at the fort, but it also has, since the Friends began publishing it in 1996, exhaustively researched essays and stories about the fort, Toronto and related history. The contents of the current issue just released this week includes:<\/p>\n

\n3> A Monument of Neglect: Commemorating the Centennial of the War of 1812 in Toronto, Part 2: 1913\u201314
