The program is eloquently called the &#8220;Eco-walk commutation allowance&#8221; &#8212; employees will be paid 1,500 Yen ($12 Cdn) if they travel four kilometres (roundtrip) at least 15 days a month. Each of the country&#8217;s 20,000 workers are eligible.
