Without an ounce of irony, Japanese automaker Mazda announced it is encouraging<\/a> its employees to walk to work. The program is eloquently called the “Eco-walk commutation allowance” — employees will be paid 1,500 Yen ($12 Cdn) if they travel four kilometres (roundtrip) at least 15 days a month.
