If you’ve ever wanted to get to know Scarborough better, but didn’t exactly know how, head to the Bridging Festival<\/a> this weekend in the Kingston – Galloway neighbourhood (first event is this afternoon, with the bulk on Saturday – click the above link for more information and location). It is, partially, held under one of Toronto’s finest bridge spans, where Lawrence crosses Highland Creek, a great natural setting. Kingston – Galloway was in the news of late as the provincial by-election saw each major-party candidate, except Green, calling for subways to Scarborough, though this area is far from any planned routes. Apart from the festival, heading here on the weekend can give you an appreciation of how vast Scarborough is.\u00a0 An annual festival, I wrote about it, and Scarborough as fertile ground for the arts, in my Toronto Star column last year.<\/a> Here’s the full line up this year:<\/p>\n
