A series of 10 short videos will be released on Spacing Toronto from Sept. 15-19, highlighting 10 No Brainers contributed by a diverse cast of Torontonians. The project will wrap up with a\u00a0free Pop-Up Event where City Council candidates can pitch which No Brainer they\u2019d champion at City Hall and the public can join in the conversation: <a title=\"East End Pop Up\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.ca\/e\/10-no-brainers-pop-up-event-gerrard-east-tickets-13099457831\" target=\"_blank\">October 9\u00a0in the East End<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In 2012, the City of Toronto adopted the <a title=\"Toronto 360 Wayfinding Strategy\" href=\"http:\/\/www1.toronto.ca\/wps\/portal\/contentonly?vgnextoid=8057524d63f02410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto 360 Wayfinding Strategy<\/a>, now in its pilot implementation phase. While the strategy looked for creative ways to enhance the\u00a0pedestrian wayfinding experience in the City, wayfinding for cyclists was left out of the strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Here, Jared Kolb, Executive Director of <a title=\"Cycle Toronto\" href=\"http:\/\/cycleto.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cycle Toronto<\/a>, shares his No Brainer on how to introduce clear, consistent wayfinding signage, symbols, and signals for cyclists, and how this could change the way we think and feel about cycling in the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>10 No Brainers to Make Toronto More Awesome! is a project of the Centre for City Ecology that highlights small, achievable actions at the City-level that would improve life in Toronto\u2019s neighbourhoods, right now.
