The fall edition of the Friends of Fort York\u2019s quarterly newsletter, Fife and<\/strong> Drum <\/strong>was released last week and is a special one as the Magna Carta exhibit just opened at the Fort yesterday (you can by tickets to see this historic 800 year old document and surrounding exhibit called Law Liberty and Legacy here<\/a> \u2014 just in time for the election, where civil and human rights are an issue again). Articles in this issue include:<\/p>\n

  1. An essay on freedom & the Magna Carta by Hugh Segal<\/li>\n
  2. A poem by Dennis Lee called “Famous Fauna of Fort York”<\/li>\n
  3. What it’s like to be a 12 year old drummer boy at the fort (and Waterloo)<\/li>\n
  4. The Toronto Athletic Games<\/li>\n
  5. A 10 year old’s take of sleeping overnight at the fort\n

    Fife & Drum lists upcoming events and recent goings-on at the fort, but it also has, since the Friends began publishing it in 1996, exhaustively researched essays and stories about the fort, Toronto and related history.
