It’s billed as the newsletter of the Friends of Fort York, but Fife and Drum is really a magazine on both Toronto and Fort York’s contemporary history, and the daily operation of a National Historic Site in the centre of the city. This issue marks the 20th year the Friends have been putting out Fife and Drum, a wholly volunteer effort. It’s free but if you’d like to support the publication consider joining the Friends<\/a>.     Fife & Drum lists upcoming events and recent goings-on at the fort, but it also has, since the Friends began publishing it in 1996, exhaustively researched essays and stories about the fort, Toronto and related history.
